WHO WE ARE
This policy applies to howardforstaterep.net and to forms operated by the Committee to Elect DeWayne Howard, including surveys and sign-up forms hosted on Facebook and Instagram. Contact us at Dewaynehoward43rdtn@gmail.com.
WHAT WE COLLECT
Contact information you give us: name, email address, phone number, mailing address. If you complete one of our forms on Facebook or Instagram, Meta shares the email address on your account with us; Meta requires at least one contact field on every form and it cannot be removed. We also collect your survey responses, including any written comments, and basic website analytics such as pages visited and device type. We do not ask for Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, financial account numbers, or health information.
HOW WE USE IT
To understand the views and priorities of District 43 residents; to guide the campaign's work and communication; to follow up with you about community work and events if you asked us to stay in touch; and to comply with Tennessee and federal campaign finance and election law.
WHAT WE DO NOT DO
We do not sell your information. We do not rent, trade, or barter your contact information to other campaigns, committees, or commercial parties.
WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
Service providers who help us operate the campaign — email and text platforms, website hosting, form and survey tools, and data storage — only as needed to perform those services. Government agencies where required by campaign finance or election law, subpoena, or court order. Information submitted through a Facebook or Instagram form is also handled by Meta under Meta's own privacy policy.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
As long as the committee is active, and afterward only as long as required by applicable recordkeeping and campaign finance law.
YOUR CHOICES
Every campaign email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can reply STOP to any text message. To access, correct, or delete your information, or to stop hearing from us entirely, email Dewaynehoward43rdtn@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. You do not need to give a reason.
SECURITY
We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
CHILDREN
Our site and forms are directed to adults eligible to vote. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
CHANGES
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the date above.
